Alaska's buy-miles sale just hit 120% bonus ✈️
Alaska just kicked off its sixth buy-miles sale of the year, and this one's the richest yet - up to a 120% bonus, though what you actually see depends on your account. If you've got a partner redemption in mind rather than just stockpiling, it's worth a look before October 19.
Bonus: up to 120% (targeted - most accounts see 100-110%)
Effective rate: ~1.71 cpp at 120%, ~1.88 cpp at 100%
Through: October 19, 2026
Best use: Cathay Pacific or JAL business class via Alaska's partner awards
Caveat: this is a recurring promo (6th this year) - only worth it if you have a redemption lined up, not for speculative buying

Citi is giving up to 35% extra when you transfer to Qatar Avios
Citi just opened a tiered transfer bonus into Qatar Airways Privilege Club (Avios) - up to 35% if you move a big enough chunk in one go. Qatar and Citi don't usually bonus each other, so this is worth 30 seconds if you've got ThankYou points sitting around and any interest in Qatar's Qsuite business class.
Ratio: 1,000 Citi ThankYou = 1,150 to 1,350 Avios, tiered by how much you convert in a single transaction (15% under 50k, 25% from 50k-99,999, 35% at 100k+)
Expiry: transfers through October 31, 2026 - bonus Avios post separately, by November 30
Best use: Qatar Qsuite business class, booked on Qatar's own award chart
Effective value: roughly 2.0 cents per Citi point at the top tier, assuming Avios around 1.5 cents each
Caveat: you need 100,000+ Avios converted in ONE transaction to hit the full 35% - smaller transfers only get 15-25%
Anyone sitting on a Qsuite redemption already? Curious what routes people are eyeing with this. Transfer on thankyou.com ->
Amex is giving 25% extra when you transfer to Flying Blue
Amex just turned on a 25% transfer bonus to Air France-KLM Flying Blue, good through the end of October. These only show up once or twice a year, so if Europe is on your radar it's worth a look.
New ratio: 1,000 Amex MR -> 1,250 Flying Blue miles (normally 1,000 -> 1,000)
Through: October 31, 2026
Best use: Flying Blue Promo Reward seats to Europe, where the already-discounted award pricing stacks with the bonus
Effective value: roughly 2.0-2.5 cents per point at the sweet spot
Watch out for: this is the US Amex Membership Rewards program, and once points move to Flying Blue they can't come back
Anyone found good Promo Reward availability this week? Drop it below if so.
Capital One is giving 20% extra when you transfer to British Airways Avios
Just launched today: Capital One is bonusing miles-to-Avios conversions by 20% through the end of October. If you've been sitting on a pile of Capital One miles, this is a good moment to look at a transfer.
New ratio: 1,000 Capital One miles -> 1,200 Avios (normally 1,000 -> 1,000)
Through: October 31, 2026
Best use: short-haul, off-peak Avios awards (American, Alaska, Aer Lingus, Iberia) where distance-based pricing keeps the points cost low
Effective value: roughly 1.4-1.6 cents per point at the sweet spot
Watch out for: carrier surcharges on British Airways-operated flights can eat into the savings - routing through Aer Lingus or Iberia usually avoids them
Anyone have a specific route they're eyeing with this one? Curious what people are booking before it expires.
Turkish Airlines miles are on sale at 1.5¢ each
If you've got a Star Alliance redemption in your sights and you're a little short, Turkish Airlines just made topping off cheaper than usual - buy at the top tier and you're paying about 1.5 cents per mile, well under what most of us value a Turkish mile at.
Rate: up to 100% bonus, ~1.5 cents per mile at the top tier (buy 250,001-500,000 miles)
Cap: 500,000 miles per calendar year
Expires: October 15, 2026
Sweet spot: Star Alliance business class, priced on Turkish's distance-based chart - often cheaper than booking through the operating partner's own program
Caveat: you need a big purchase (250K+ miles) to hit the full 100% bonus; smaller tiers only get 25-50%
Anyone actually pulled the trigger on this one, or have a redemption to pair it with? Drop it below. Buy on turkishairlines.com ->
United just opened a status match from Delta and AA
United's leaning hard into the Starlink Wi-Fi win over Delta, and it just opened a pretty generous status match to go with it. If you're sitting on Delta SkyMiles or American AAdvantage elite status and tired of slow Wi-Fi, this is a cheap way to try United without starting from zero.
Match from: Delta SkyMiles or American AAdvantage elite status
Get: Matching United Premier tier (Silver, Gold, Platinum or 1K)
Valid: 90-day challenge, then status through January 31, 2028
Keep it: Fly United and spend $1,500 (Silver) up to $7,000 (1K) within the 90 days
Apply by: October 15, 2026

Bilt's one-day bonus can push your Amtrak points up 125%
Bilt just ran its October Rent Day promo, and today only you can move Bilt Points to Amtrak Guest Rewards with a bonus of up to 125% depending on your Bilt status tier.
Ratio: at the top 125% tier, 1,000 Bilt Points become roughly 1,125 Amtrak points, versus 500 at the standard 2:1 rate
Expiry: today only, October 1, 2026 (12:00am ET to 11:59pm PT)
Best use: a long-distance roomette sleeper redemption, where Amtrak points tend to deliver their best value
Effective value: roughly 2 cents per point at that sweet spot
Caveat: the bonus only applies to your first 100,000 Bilt Points transferred, and the top tier needs Platinum Plus status or a $400 Bilt Cash buy-up
Anyone have a sleeper trip they're pointing this at? Transfer on bilt.com ->
Finnair's Avios sale is back at 1.4 cents each
Finnair Plus just launched a buy-points sale, and if you're already sitting in a Finnair Plus account (or don't mind opening one), it's one of the cheaper ways to top up an Avios balance right now.
Bonus: up to 50% extra Avios on purchases
Effective rate: as low as 1.4 cents per Avios at the top purchase tier
Cap: 200,000 Avios per calendar year (purchases and gifts combined)
Through: October 5, 2026
Sweet spot: off-peak business class to Europe on Iberia or British Airways from around 34,000 Avios one-way
Caveat: the cheapest pricing tier requires paying in Japanese yen, so your actual rate depends on your account's billing currency - run the numbers before you buy
Anyone actually holding a Finnair Plus account and used this one? Curious how the yen pricing trick worked out in practice. Buy Avios here.
