Economy awards between North America and India saw the biggest reductions. But the meaningful news for aspirational travelers is that business class from the U.S. to India also got cheaper. United has officially launched what it calls 'fare families' for Polaris business class and premium economy. The framing is diplomatic. The reality is simpler: the cheapest business class fares now come with restrictions that would have felt absurd two years ago.

Buy the cheapest Polaris ticket and you'll now face: paid seat selection, no changes, and - the one that stings most - no Polaris Lounge access. Hyatt is replacing its current three-tier pricing structure (Off-peak, Standard, Peak) with a five-tier model this May. The new tiers are labeled Lowest, Low, Moderate, Upper, and Top. On paper that sounds like more granularity. In practice, it means more opportunities for pricing to creep upward on properties that currently land in favorable tiers.

The smart move right now is to identify properties you've been considering and lock in bookings under the current chart before the switchover.
