If you've been on the fence about Bilt's new card lineup, this might be the detail that tips the scales. Effective immediately, Bilt Cash - the separate rewards currency earned alongside Bilt Points - can now be redeemed for BLADE helicopter transfers. The coverage is up to $350 per ride, twice per year, which means Bilt Palladium cardholders have access to $700 in annual helicopter credit.

For context: a BLADE helicopter transfer between Manhattan and JFK typically runs $195-$395. That's a genuinely premium perk, and for New York-based travelers it's one of the most practical luxury travel benefits I've seen added to a card in a while.

The Bilt Palladium Card costs $495 annually, but as View from the Wing noted yesterday, even used as a simple 2x-everywhere card it may be the strongest general spending product on the market right now - because Bilt Points transfer to an unusually strong list of airline and hotel partners. Layer in the Rent Day transfer bonuses, Points Accelerators, and now BLADE, and the value proposition gets considerably richer.

BLADE bookings are now integrated directly into the Bilt app, so there's no separate booking flow to navigate. You just book within Bilt and the Cash credit applies automatically.

If you live in or regularly visit New York City and are evaluating the Bilt Palladium, this partnership meaningfully changes the math. Two $350 BLADE credits per year comes close to offsetting the annual fee on its own, before you count the transfer partner access or the rent payment perks.

The AAdvantage Executive Card is being refreshed and rebranded, and the changes hit on August 23 - nine days from now. The annual fee is jumping by $100. That's the headline that stings. But Upgraded Points broke down every change arriving alongside that fee increase, and it's a longer list than most card refreshes deliver.

New benefits include a $500 American Airlines Vacations credit, $100 back on in-flight and Admirals Club purchases, up to $180 in Lyft credits, Omni Hotels Champion status, and an Omni free night after a two-night qualifying stay. Enhanced loyalty point earning goes up to 40,000 points per year.

The $500 AA Vacations credit is the key variable. If you book packaged vacations through American's portal, that credit could justify the higher fee entirely. If you don't, the calculus is harder. The Lyft credits and Omni benefits are nice additions, but they require behavior change to capture.

Existing cardholders should look closely at whether the new credits fit their actual travel patterns before the August 23 renewal date. If you fly American frequently and use AA Vacations, this refresh is a genuine improvement. If you were holding the card mainly for Admirals Club access, the higher fee deserves a harder look.

Delta announced yesterday that it will launch nonstop service from Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to Paris Charles de Gaulle - its first long-haul route from Austin and the city's fourth European destination. Flights are set to begin in spring 2027.

For points travelers, this is worth flagging early. New long-haul routes often launch with award availability that tightens fast once demand is established. If Paris is on your list and you're sitting on Delta SkyMiles or Flying Blue miles, this is a route to watch when booking opens.

There's a transfer bonus that closes faster than most people expect this week. Citi ThankYou Rewards is running a 20% bonus when you transfer to Air France KLM Flying Blue, and it ends Saturday August 22 - eight days from today.

Frontier Miles is running a 150% bonus through August 28, which is one of the stronger purchase bonuses on the market right now. Alaska Airlines (Atmos Rewards) has a 100% bonus that closes this Thursday, August 20. JetBlue's 20% discount ends this Tuesday, August 18.
