✈️ Miles & Points Daily
Two completely unrelated stories today - and yet they tell the same story about how fast the travel world can change in 24 hours.
On one hand, Chase just quietly activated one of the more useful transfer bonuses of the year. On the other, the Middle East airspace situation is reshaping flight routes and cancellations in real time. Both deserve your attention this Monday morning.
💳 Chase Just Made Your Avios Go Further This Month
Starting today, Chase Ultimate Rewards is offering a 20% bonus when you transfer points to British Airways Executive Club, Iberia Plus, or Aer Lingus AerClub - all through March 31, 2026.
The math is simple: transfer 50,000 Chase points and you'll land 60,000 Avios instead. That extra 10,000 Avios could cover a short-haul redemption on its own.
The Case for Avios Right Now
Avios are one of the most flexible currencies in travel - usable across British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Qatar Airways, Vueling, and more. Short-haul sweet spots on American Airlines domestic routes start at just 7,500 Avios one-way. Business class to Europe via Iberia can run as low as 34,000 Avios one-way.
If you've been sitting on a pile of Chase points without a clear redemption plan, this 20% top-up is a compelling reason to move them now. Use our
Transfer 50,000 Chase points this month and you get 60,000 Avios. That extra 10k could cover a one-way domestic flight on American Airlines.
✈️ Flying Blue March Promo Rewards - Some Genuinely Good Ones
Air France-KLM's Flying Blue program just published its March 2026 Promo Rewards list, offering discounted award tickets for travel over the coming months. We're talking 25% off a solid range of destinations, including several in the Americas - and some are available in premium economy and business class, which is rare for these promotions.
Business Class at a Discount - Worth a Look
Flying Blue Promo Rewards change every month and availability moves fast. The business class discounts in particular tend to disappear quickly once deal hunters find them. If you have Flying Blue miles sitting around, now is the time to log in and check what's on offer for your target destination.
Award Travel Finder tracks Flying Blue availability daily and will flag the best redemptions as they appear - worth bookmarking if you're planning a trip this spring.

🏨 Korean Air's New LAX Lounge Is Worth the Hype
After nearly two years of renovations, Korean Air is officially opening its new flagship lounge at Los Angeles International Airport on March 6. The lounge is at the Tom Bradley International Terminal and has been dramatically redesigned - we're talking a substantially different product than what was there before.
March 6 Opening at Tom Bradley
If you have a Korean Air flight departing LAX in the near future, this is excellent news. Premium lounges at Tom Bradley have historically been some of the better airport lounge experiences on the West Coast, and this renovation looks set to raise that bar further.
Korean Air is a SkyTeam member, which means Delta elite members and select credit card holders may also have access depending on their status level. Worth checking before your next LAX departure. You can browse the full airport lounge landscape at

🚨 Middle East Airspace Crisis - What It Means for Your Travel Plans
If you have flights booked through the Middle East in the coming days, pay close attention. Following U.S. and Israeli military strikes on Iran, Iran retaliated with drone and missile attacks that struck Dubai International Airport, the Burj Al Arab hotel, and Kuwait International Airport over the weekend. Kuwaiti airspace was shut down entirely. Airspace closures spread across the UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Iraq, Syria, Israel, Kuwait, and Bahrain.
Flight Cancellations and Rerouting Across Gulf Carriers
Emirates, Qatar Airways, and other Gulf carriers were hit hardest. A massive number of flights were cancelled or rerouted as a result. If your itinerary passes through Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi, or Kuwait in the next several days, check your airline's status updates directly and understand your rebooking rights before the situation becomes urgent.
This is a fast-moving situation. If you're traveling through the Gulf this week, check your flight status before heading to the airport - airspace closures can change by the hour.
The situation remains fluid. For Middle East travel news and updates, our travel safety and middle east travel coverage pages have ongoing context.
✈️ United Quietly Changed the Rules - And Most Passengers Don't Know Yet
This one slipped under the radar over the weekend, but it affects a lot of people. United Airlines quietly updated its policies to prohibit passengers from buying multiple tickets as a cost-saving strategy - a tactic some savvy travelers use to lower the overall fare. The airline also explicitly banned in-flight video calls and added language against viewing "offensive" content onboard.
The multiple-ticket loophole worked like this: instead of buying a single expensive through-ticket, you'd purchase two or more separate tickets to piece together a cheaper itinerary. United's new rules now explicitly forbid this approach. The video call ban is worth noting too - expect enforcement to vary widely by crew, but the policy is now officially on the books.
None of these changes were publicly announced, which is the part that should give every United flyer pause. For our full United Airlines coverage and more on how these policy changes could affect your next trip, see our
🛒 Get Bilt or Amex Points for 1 Cent Each via Rakuten
Here's a slightly unusual opportunity worth flagging. Rakuten has a 100% cashback rebate running on Surfshark VPN subscriptions. Because Rakuten lets you earn rewards in Amex Membership Rewards points or Bilt points, you can effectively acquire those points at just 1 cent each by purchasing the subscription and receiving the full cost back as a rebate.
Amex points at 1 cent each is a solid acquisition cost given their flexibility across airline and hotel transfer partners. Bilt points - which transfer to airlines like United, American, and now Japan Airlines - at 1 cent is genuinely compelling. If you were going to sign up for a VPN anyway, this one basically pays for itself in points.
You'll need a Rakuten account to access this - if you don't have one yet, it's free to join and has paid for itself many times over for most frequent shoppers.
That's all for today - see you tomorrow! In the meantime, if you're hunting for award availability, Award Travel Finder is running daily searches across all the major programs and will surface the best redemptions as they appear.
