Something quietly shifted in the loyalty world over the weekend - while most people were offline, a handful of genuinely time-sensitive windows started closing. The Hyatt Business Card offer, a killer transatlantic business class sweet spot, and a 100% transfer bonus are all racing toward their deadlines. Let's get into it.
🤓 Miles & Points Trivia
Which transfer partner is currently offering a 100% bonus through Choice Privileges - but only until April 24th?
🇫🇷 Air France KLM Flying Blue
🇦🇪 Emirates Skywards
🇸🇬 Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
🇨🇦 Air Canada Aeroplan
The answer is waiting for you near the bottom of today's newsletter... keep scrolling. 👇
😂 The Ryanair Overhead Bin Incident
Let's start with the story that made the whole aviation internet laugh this weekend.
A passenger on a Ryanair flight from Malta to Naples climbed into the overhead bin and shouted "Napoli" - apparently joking that it was a way to dodge paying for the return trip. The clip went viral almost immediately, and honestly, it's hard to blame people for laughing.
But here's the thing: the joke only works because Ryanair has trained passengers to think of every inch of that cabin as monetized. Overhead bin space, seat selection, priority boarding - it's all a fee. When a budget carrier builds a culture around charging for everything, you eventually get passengers satirizing the whole system by climbing into the bins.
If Ryanair's fee structure makes you want to crawl into a luggage compartment, our friends at Friday Flight Deals might have a better option - they find cash fares to Europe that sometimes beat the budget carriers on total cost once you stack the fees.

🚨 United's Emergency Diversion to Pittsburgh
This one is more serious. A United Airlines flight from Chicago to New York was diverted to Pittsburgh yesterday after a possible bomb threat on board. Passengers were told to brace for an emergency landing, then ordered to leave everything behind and run after deplaning.
The plane declared a 7700 emergency squawk - the standard signal for a general emergency - and bomb technicians responded rapidly on the ground. Officials were still characterizing it as a security issue rather than a confirmed threat as of yesterday, but the evacuation was real and the response was swift.
Kudos to the crew for handling what must have been an extraordinarily stressful situation. Passengers in those scenarios are entirely dependent on clear communication from flight staff, and by all accounts, the crew did the right things.

🏨 World of Hyatt Business Card - 80K Bonus, But the Clock Is Ticking
If you've had the World of Hyatt Business Card on your radar, this is the moment. The card is currently offering an 80,000 bonus point welcome offer - and it's ending soon, potentially within days.
80,000 Hyatt points is serious money. Depending on how you redeem them, you're looking at multiple free nights at some genuinely incredible properties. Use our Hyatt Points Calculator to see exactly what 80K is worth for your target properties.
Hyatt points consistently rank among the most valuable hotel points in the game - and the business version of this card comes with ongoing earning rates that make it a long-term keeper, not just a welcome bonus play. If you're on the fence, the improved offer is the tipping point.
The World of Hyatt Business Card's 80K welcome offer is ending soon - this may be the last week to lock it in at this level.

✈️ 42K Miles to Europe in Business Class - But Only Until This Week
Here's a sweet spot that deserves your attention before it disappears. SAS is running an award sale that's pricing transatlantic business class at just 42,000 miles one-way. That is an exceptional rate for lie-flat business class across the Atlantic, and the offer is closing this week.
If you've been sitting on Avianca LifeMiles, this is one of the programs that can book SAS awards - and LifeMiles is currently running a 160% buy miles bonus at just 1.27 cents per mile through April 28th. That means you could potentially buy the miles you need at a steep discount and lock in a business class seat for well under what most programs charge.
Award Travel Finder has been tracking transatlantic business class availability across programs - worth a look if you want to compare your options before this SAS window closes.
🚨 Deal Alert: 100% Transfer Bonus Ending in 4 Days
This one is genuinely urgent. Choice Privileges is currently offering a 100% transfer bonus to Air France KLM Flying Blue - and it expires on April 24th. That's four days from today.
Flying Blue miles are exceptionally useful for booking Air France and KLM flights, including some solid transatlantic business class redemptions. If you have Choice points sitting around from hotel stays or the Choice credit card, doubling them up through Flying Blue is one of the most impactful transfers you can make right now.
The 100% Choice to Flying Blue transfer bonus ends April 24th - four days to act.
Worth noting: there are also several other transfer bonuses live right now. Chase is offering a 20% bonus to Air Canada Aeroplan through April 30th, a 70% bonus to IHG through April 30th, and Capital One is running a 30% bonus to JAL Mileage Bank through April 30th as well. Full details on all of these are on our transfer bonuses page.
✈️ Southwest Free Wine Checking - A Perk Nobody Saw Coming
In the category of "unexpected airline announcements", Southwest just revealed that starting April 24th, passengers flying between select West Coast cities can check up to one case of wine for free under a new program called Sip and Ship.
Southwest hasn't confirmed exactly which cities will be included yet, but the carrier says the program mirrors a similar perk already offered by Alaska Airlines. It's a genuinely quirky differentiator - and if you're wine country adjacent (think Napa, Sonoma, Walla Walla), this is worth paying attention to when the full city list drops.
Speaking of Southwest, if you're eyeing points for upcoming travel, the Southwest Rapid Rewards buy miles promotion is running a 45% discount through May 30th at 1.65 cents per mile. Not the flashiest deal on the board, but if you're short on Rapid Rewards for a specific redemption, it's a reasonable rate.
For all our Southwest coverage, see our Southwest stories page.
💰 Rakuten + Chase Freedom Unlimited: A $75 Stack Worth Knowing
Here's a quick one that's worth bookmarking if you've been thinking about the Chase Freedom Unlimited. Rakuten is currently offering up to $75 when you sign up for the Chase Freedom Unlimited through their portal - $75 for new Chase customers, and $25 for existing Chase cardholders who add a new product.
The Freedom Unlimited is one of the strongest everyday earners in the Chase ecosystem - especially if you pair it with a Sapphire card to convert those cash back rewards into transferable Ultimate Rewards points. Stack the Rakuten bonus on top, and you're starting ahead of the game on day one.
The $75 offer is updated as of this weekend, so act while it's at this level.
🌎 Trivia Reveal
The answer is Air France KLM Flying Blue. Choice Privileges is currently offering a 100% transfer bonus to Flying Blue - meaning every Choice point you transfer becomes two Flying Blue miles. This bonus expires April 24th, so you have four days to take advantage. Flying Blue is a genuinely versatile program for European travel, and this doubling opportunity doesn't come around all that often.
💬 Quick Question
Do you prefer hoarding your points for one big redemption, or do you redeem as you go for smaller trips throughout the year?
Hit reply and let me know your strategy - I read every response and genuinely love seeing how different people approach this. There's no wrong answer here, but the approaches are wildly different and I'm curious which camp you fall into.
That's it for today - hope your Monday is off to a great start. Keep an eye on those April 24th deadlines, act on the Hyatt Business Card if it's been on your list, and I'll be back tomorrow with more.
