The deeper play here is Bilt's Rent Day bonus (first of every month) and its Points Accelerator feature, which can stack on top of base earning for specific merchants. Add in fee-free rent and mortgage payments, and the effective earn rate climbs well above what the sticker suggests. The Amex Platinum is a lounge card and a status card. The CSR is a travel-and-dining card with strong transfer partners. But the Strata Elite is trying to thread a needle between the two - and in several key categories, it's winning. Weekend dining at 6x is genuinely hard to beat. And American Airlines transfers are an asset right now given the AAdvantage buy-points discount running through October 18.

The Citi Strata Elite won't replace either card for everyone, but if you're a heavy weekend diner or an AAdvantage collector, the math may already favor it over cards charging $100 to $200 more annually. Chase announced two changes to the Sapphire Reserve for Business yesterday. The good news: the annual hotel credit through The Edit is doubling from $500 to $1,000 per calendar year, structured as four $250 quarterly credits. That's a meaningful jump for anyone using the card for business travel and staying at participating properties.

The tradeoff is a cap on 3x earning for eligible advertising spend - limited to $1 million annually starting this November. For the overwhelming majority of cardholders, that cap will never come into play. But if you're running high-volume advertising through this card, take note before the November cutoff.

The hotel credit expansion is a genuine win for business travelers already holding this card. The advertising cap only stings a tiny slice of power users. Net result: the card gets more valuable for most people on January 1.

Hilton Honors opened registration today for its third global promotion of 2026. The offer is valid for Q4 stays and awards between 1,000 and 3,000 bonus points per stay starting with the second stay during the promo period. The tiered structure means your first stay earns nothing extra - the bonus kicks in from stay two onward.

Is it exciting? Not really. One Mile at a Time put it well: it's better than nothing, and that's about the kindest thing you can say. Hilton's global promos have been steadily less generous over the past couple of years. But the registration takes 30 seconds and if you have any Q4 Hilton stays planned, there's zero reason not to sign up. Points are points.

Speaking of hotel promos worth registering for - IHG One Rewards just opened registration for its Q4 global promotion yesterday.
