  • 🚨 Deal Alert: Rove Miles to SAS EuroBonus 20% transfer bonus expires TODAY - April 8

Two credit card teams walked into the office yesterday and decided to actually compete for your wallet. One rewrote the value proposition on a card that flopped at launch. The other quietly dropped one of the stronger first-year offers of the year. Both are worth your attention this morning.

Let's get into it.

🤓 Miles & Points Trivia

Which Citi transfer partner is being devalued starting April 19, cutting the transfer ratio from 1:4 down to 1:2?

  • 🇨🇴 Avianca LifeMiles

  • 🏨 I Prefer Hotel Rewards

  • ✈️ Virgin Atlantic Flying Club

  • 🇸🇬 Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer

The answer is waiting near the bottom of today's newsletter... keep scrolling. 👇

💳 JetBlue's $499 Card Just Got a Lot Harder to Dismiss

When JetBlue and Barclays launched the JetBlue Premier Card in early 2025, the reception was cold. The math on justifying a $499 annual fee just didn't work cleanly enough for most people, even loyal JetBlue flyers. Yesterday, they fixed that.

Companion Pass, Award Rebate, and a Status Shortcut

The updated card now includes a spending-based companion pass, a 15% rebate on TrueBlue award redemptions, new travel credits, and a 25-tile head start toward Mosaic status. The annual fee stays at $499. That combination of a companion pass and a 15% award rebate fundamentally changes the calculus here - the companion pass alone can be worth hundreds of dollars depending on your routes.

The 25-tile Mosaic boost is particularly interesting for anyone who was close to status but not quite there. Mosaic 1 starts at 50 tiles, so this card gets you halfway before you even board a plane. For all the latest JetBlue news and changes, check out our full JetBlue TrueBlue coverage.

Bottom line: if you fly JetBlue at least a handful of times a year, the case for this card just became genuinely strong. If you want to check what your TrueBlue points are worth before committing, our JetBlue Points Calculator is a useful starting point.

💳 The Citi Strata Elite Nobody Is Talking About Yet

Citi's new Strata Elite card landed quietly, but the offer deserves more attention than it's getting. The current welcome bonus is 75,000 ThankYou points, and on top of that, you can earn up to $1,200 in travel credits in year one. That is a serious first-year value stack.

AAdvantage as a Transfer Destination - That's New

The development that makes this especially interesting right now: ThankYou points can now transfer directly to American Airlines AAdvantage. That opens up a meaningful new redemption path, especially given how useful AAdvantage miles remain for partner awards. Combined with existing transfer partners, this card gives you real flexibility.

Speaking of Citi transfer partners - there's a deadline worth flagging. The Citi-to-Avianca LifeMiles 25% transfer bonus runs through April 18, and the Citi-to-Virgin Atlantic 30% bonus also ends April 18. If you've been sitting on ThankYou points and have been meaning to move them, both of those are worth a look before next Friday.

The Citi-to-Virgin Atlantic 30% bonus and the Citi-to-Avianca 25% bonus both expire April 18. Two days apart from each other - set a reminder now.

🚨 Deal Alert: Rove Miles to SAS Bonus Expires TODAY

This one is time-critical. The 20% transfer bonus from Rove Miles to SAS EuroBonus expires today, April 8. If you have Rove Miles and any SAS redemptions in your future, this is the day to move them. Once it's gone, it's gone.

✈️ Delta Now Counts Hotel Stays and Rental Cars Toward Status

Delta is running its MQD-earning promo again - for the second time in 2026 already. Under this promotion, hotel stays, vacation rentals, and rental car bookings can count toward elite Delta SkyMiles status Medallion Qualifying Dollars. This is the same structure that ran three times each in 2024 and 2025, and at this point it feels like it's only a matter of time before it becomes a permanent feature of the program.

How Close Are You to the Next Medallion Tier?

The real opportunity here is for anyone who flies Delta regularly but has historically fallen just short of the next status tier. If you have hotel stays or car rentals already planned, booking them through Delta's partners could close the gap. Our Delta SkyMiles Calculator can help you run the numbers on whether it's worth redirecting spend to Delta's partners.

If you're actively shopping for award flights to use those Medallion miles, Award Travel Finder tracks redemption availability across every major program daily - worth bookmarking if you haven't already.

🚨 Deal Alert: Book These Citi Hotels Before April 19 - Or Pay Double

Last month, Citi ThankYou Rewards announced a significant devaluation to its I Prefer Hotel Rewards transfer partner. Starting April 19, the transfer ratio drops from 1:4 to 1:2 - meaning you'll get half as many I Prefer points for every ThankYou point transferred. If you have redemptions in mind at Preferred Hotels and Resorts properties, you have 11 days to lock in the better rate.

I Prefer properties start at just 3,750 Citi points at the current ratio, which is genuinely useful for independent luxury hotels that don't sit inside the big chain ecosystems. After April 19, that same redemption will cost 7,500 points. Worth acting on if this program is part of your strategy.

Not sure if points or cash is the better play for an upcoming hotel stay? The Award vs Cash Calculator can help you think through the math before you commit.

💰 Current Offers Worth Knowing About

A few buy points offers worth flagging before they expire. JetBlue is selling TrueBlue points at a 125% bonus through April 18, which works out to about 1.43 cents per point - strong if you have specific redemptions in mind. Air France-KLM Flying Blue is running an 80% bonus on purchased miles through April 16 at 1.69 cents, and that Choice Hotels-to-Flying Blue 100% transfer bonus also expires April 24.

Also: Hyatt is currently selling World of Hyatt points at a 20% discount, but that offer expires TODAY - April 8. If you have Hyatt redemptions planned and wanted to top up your balance, today is literally the last day. Use our Hyatt Points Calculator to check whether buying makes sense for your specific redemption target.

🌎 Trivia Reveal

The answer is I Prefer Hotel Rewards. Starting April 19, the Citi ThankYou transfer ratio to I Prefer drops from 1:4 down to 1:2 - halving the value of every point you send there. If you've been planning a stay at a Preferred Hotels property, the clock is ticking.
