The View from the Wing piece also flagged business class to Africa at 75,000 points as a sweet spot that still works - a region that often gets overlooked when people are hunting for premium cabin deals. It's a longer haul that genuinely benefits from lie-flat seats, and 75,000 points is a reasonable ask for business class across the Atlantic to the African continent.

Most award charts feel like they get worse every quarter. These are the pockets that haven't moved yet. The 3,000-point London redemption via Virgin and Bilt's September bonus is particularly time-sensitive - Bilt bonuses rotate monthly, so September's window matters.

View from the Wing also dropped a review of the Riggs Hotel in Washington DC - a former bank turned stylish GHA Discovery property directly across from the National Portrait Gallery.
